The official poster of Ulju Mountain Film Festival includes the two types of illustrations entitled ‘Day and Night of Ulju.’ Focusing on image-telling.
This poster was produced so as to express a feature of this mountain-themed film festival along with Ulju’s local particularity representing the Yeongnam Alps.
The ‘Day’ poster joyfully and actively describes nature of Ulju and people who are enjoying mountain sports including tracking, climbing and paragliding. The ‘Night’ poster thoroughly and magically captures the cultural environment in Ulju such as the outdoor cinema, the camping site and Bangudae Petroglyph Rock in the soft moonlight and shadow. To visualize both the feature of this mountain culturethemed film festival and the trial programs including tracking during the festival, we planned the poster to become friendly to the general public.
The official poster of Ulju Mountain Film Festival personifies the mountain so that we can feel an image of the numinous but the intimate from Korean mountains. When we place the two types of the day and the night posters side by side, the whole picture, strangely inspiring, becomes one completed picture like the Korean traditional picture named ‘Painting of the Sun, the Moon, and the Five Peaks (Ilwol- o-bong-do).’ The illustration was completed by an illustrator YUN Ye-ji and the executive art-directing by Studio fnt, the studio that created the Festival Identity of Ulju Mountain Film Festival.
