Pedro GONZÁLEZ-RUBIO
Mexican director Pedro Gonzalez-Rubio¡¯s second feature, Alamar, is a documentary style film about a short trip taken by a father and son before they are separated because of marital problems. Father and son stay together in the world¡¯s second largest coral reef habitat, Banco Chinchorro, in a beautiful harmony between man and nature. The documentary format within a feature film adds to the sincerity of what can become a father and son¡¯s last trip together, and transforms the dazzling beauty of nature into a poetic image of a father and son¡¯s relationship.
