Other than ¡®Do-Re-Mi¡¯ and ¡®Julie Andrews¡¯, we don¡¯t have to mention anything else to introduce the classic Hollywood musical film. The setting is during World War Two, in the beautiful Austrian Alps. Free-spirited nun Maria becomes governess to the von Trapp family, with a widowed, retired captain and his seven children. She brings warmth to a strict military household and falls in love. Based on Maria von Trapp¡¯s autobiography The Story of the Trapp Family Singers (1949), the film lasts almost 3 hours, but no one¡¯s the wiser amid the stupendous musical numbers, dance, and romance.
