A children’s rights activist arrives in a very traditional inner Mongolian village. She is worried about the children riding horses without any protective gear. Meanwhile, 9-year-old Byamba wants to participate in the traditional horse race, but doesn’t have his father’s permission. He trains secretly, and when his father finds out, he changes his mind and helps Byamba train for the race. Keywords penetrating the film are tradition and change, inner and outside worlds, conflict and compromise between the existing and new generations. They create a harmony with the picturesque inner Mongolian landscape as the backdrop. (AHN Jung-ah)
