Sati is a Hindu funeral custom where a widow throws herself on the fire when her husband is being cremated. Polish mountaineer Piotrek looked for happiness and meaning of life in the mountains, but his widow’s mind is a mix of emotions as she watches his last climb. As she realizes that her loving husband will no longer be able to come home, her spirit also disappears - a true “Sati” indeed. (GWAK Jeong-hye)

Bartłomiej Świderski studied Film and TV Directing at Silesian University and was a student at Wajda Film School. He has directed several short films and commercials, but what he wants to do the most is make documentaries. Sati is his documentary debut.
