Min Bahadur BHAM
The first republican election is held in Nepal after ten years of civil war. Broadcasts of the Communist Party of Nepal is heard throughout the village, and people are all full of hope for the new Nepal. But to 12-year-old Bijuli, there is a different kind of change. The flute plays a sad tune in the beautiful Himalayas, as though sympathizing with her emotions and ironic situation. (KIM Se-jin)

An award-winning filmmaker from Nepal. Min Bahadur Bham¡¯s short film The Flute(2012) was the first Nepalese film presented at the Venice IFF in competition. The Black Hen(2015) is the first feature film of Nepal presented in Venice Critics Week.
