Jen RANDALL
Based on the Welsh climber Andy Kirkpatrick¡¯s bestselling autobiography of the same name, ¡ºPsycho Vertical¡» is about his 18-day solo ascent in the Yosemite South Seas (grade A4, 24 pitch). Kirkpatrick provides a penetrating and emotional narration about his complicated life and motive for climbing, while the scene changes from his struggles with the big wall to memories from the past. Behind his fantastic career of climbing in the Alpes Dru, Fitz Roy, Antarctica, Yosemite El Capitan Aurora, Tangerine Trip, and Reticent Wall, there is the inspiration of the solitary 18 days in which he alone was hauling food and water, and setting up a portaledge.
