In the early days, local people were considered merely as porters or guides when climbing in the Himalayas. However, as they improve their mountaineering skills, they start to play a key role in Himalayan expeditions. Unlike their ancestors who believed climbing to the summit of the sacred mountain called Chomolungma(Goddess Mother of the World) is taboo, young Tibetans are willingly carving out their careers as guides up Mt. Everest. Trainee guides enrolled at Tibet Mountaineering Guide School join Mt. Everest expeditions after receiving systematic training. Depending on their physical condition and mountaineering ability, each of them is given a different climbing permit every year. Some are pleased; some are frustrated with the results. This is a heart-touching film about young Tibetans struggling to find their identity deep in the mountains, torn among the traditional, religious, and mundane worlds.
