Gerold, the Air Zermatt rescue team leader, and Bruno, a pilot better at flying a helicopter than riding a bicycle, have been working together for more than 30 years. Upon the request of Nepal in 2006, they participated in their first rescue operation in the Himalayas. In 2009, Nepali pilots Sabin and Siddartha paid a visit to Switzerland to receive helicopter rescue training and returned home without completing it as the climbing season approached. After Sabin died in a crash while attempting to rescue alpinists on Ama Dablam, Siddartha and others revisited Switzerland to continue with their learning. When a 7.9-magnitude earthquake hit Nepal in 2015, Gerold and Bruno headed to the Himalayas along with these Nepalis to restore mountain villages and local schools. Would these Napalis be able to pass the last test to save others in a real- life situation?
