LIM Iljin, KIM Minchul
It has been a while since the mountain was there. Some climbers might still climb for this reason, yet others do it for personal honor and success. Now that most of the high mountains have been summitted, there are many expeditions that attempt to find a new route, break existing records and climb without supplement oxygen. Lim Iljin, a camera man took part in four commercial expeditions for 5 years from 2009 to 2013; Spantik Golden Peak of K2, Gasherbrum, Cholache and the Everest. Sweet dream of success, adventure for a bigger success and unfeasible attempts interact like the cogwheel of death. The film takes the observer's point of view and asks climbers whether or not climbers caused the tragedies themselves. This is a documentary that exposes the yet untold reality of Korean commercial climbing expeditions.
