Nanga Parbat is a Sanskrit expression for ¡®Bare Mountain¡¯. Until it was summitted for the first time in 1953, it had already taken about 30 climbers¡¯ lives. Two Reinhold and Gunther Messner brothers, who were inspired by father, the Himalayas are a goal in life. Meanwhile, after the first success in climbing Nanga Parbat of Hermann Buhl, the symbolic model of postwar reconstruction of German, Doctor Herrligkoffer manages the 7th German expedition. Messner Brothers are included in the expedition, but as Reinhold and the captain Herrligkoffer compete against each other, the internal conflicts worsen. The brothers manage to reach the top, but Gunther disappears on the way back down and Reinhold also faces deadly crisis while searching for his brother. This film shows the situation of the age when climbing was used as a tool to integrate people and raise the national status as well Reinhold Messner¡¯s lifelong attitude toward mountains.
