To Chris Bonington, who summitted Mt. Everest in 4 attempts at the age of 50, what first comes to mind is not the glory and delight of the success but his partners who died. Bonington is a true alpinist who has challenged peaks no others had ever tried for nearly 50 years. His modest attitude and honest eyes show his philosophy about life and climbing.
