Wim Wenders has been trying the collaborations with the various kinds of art such as music, fashion and dance. In The Salt of the Earth, he finds a new collaborator, the Brazilian photographer Sebastiao Salgado. The film began from a simple thing; Wender¡¯s personal interest in Salgado as artist. Then the world of Salgado¡¯s art are shown followed by the story about his subjects; the people in Africa and Latin America, the workers around the world, the refugees dying from the starvation and the war. When he came back home, Salgado planted 2,5million trees during 10 years and restored the nature.
