Questioning and problem posing to the governmental authority and its suppression became an important theme recently in the documentary scene. Legend of Miryang 2 is one of those films. The film depicting the 10 year long struggle and fight of the residents of Miryang against the construction of the transmission towers, shows in what kind of the world we are living. Legend of Miryang 2 pays its attention to the power that ‘the people of earth’ possess. Amidst the fight, they pick the fruit, feed the kettle and plant the potatoes. For them the transmission powers are not just the construction, it is the violence done to ‘the history of production’ made on their earth for a long time so they resist for their life to prevent the rupture of the history. The real Miryang, not as the issue in the news breathes in this film. And their struggle goes on.
