A shy young prince seeks solace in overeating rather than attempt courtship. When he suffers from severe stomach pains, a peculiar doctor comes and advises him to drink the waters of a magical spring every day. But it is a thousand leagues from the palace. The prince must go there alone, on foot, otherwise the water will lose its powers to cure him.

Frits Standaert graduated from the Royal Academy of Fine Art in Ghent, Belgium, in 1986 and now shares his time between directing, animating, producing and teaching. He’s the head of the animation department of the RITCS School of Arts in Brussels, and the manager of the Eyeland Animation Studio in Ghent.
