Lisa is served notice by her cousin’s ghost that her family needs her. Returning home to her village, Lisa realizes she must save her brother from a tragic fate she’s foreseen since childhood. In bringing Eden Robinson’s beloved novel to the screen, the director offers us a modern epic underpinned by themes that have long defined heroic journeys.

Todd is Cree Metis and a leader in Indigenous media, having directed many award-winning films. She created, produced, wrote and directed over 100 media projects. Her first feature, Monkey Beach, is based on the iconic Canadian novel by Eden Robinson and was screened at TIFF.
