More people have been to outer space than have stood on the summit of K2. In 2019, mountain guides Adrian and Carla made the attempt to summit K2 without the use of supplemental oxygen. Every step of the way the team face hazardous conditions, terrifying setbacks, and crushing misfortunes. But as Adrian puts it, “ I go until the mountain tells me that I can’t go anymore.”

Adrian Ballinger has been climbing for more than two decades and has successfully led more than 100 clients to the over 8,000-meter summits of Everest, Lhotse, Manaslu, and Cho Oyu. In 2004, Ballinger founded Alpenglow Expeditions, leading three trips on one continent.
