Although the phrase 'gender equality' has been used for a while in Korean society, gender is still regarded as a matter of confrontation rather than coexistence. A baseball player wants to enter the professional league. She is a woman, and although the legal restrictions are no longer in place, cultural and conventional barriers are still in force. What¡¯s interesting in this film is that it doesn¡¯t deal with the somewhat melodramatic "because she¡¯s a girl" issue, but rather with the growing pains of a rite of passage everyone must go through. It¡¯s an encouragement for all the young ones taking steps towards their dreams without foul play. (KIM Se-jin)
