In May 2006, two 19-year-olds set the record as the youngest Britons to climb Mount Everest (8,848 m). Together, they continued to explore and challenge themselves, successfully traveling from the North Pole to the South Pole using only natural power, and being selected as National Geographic¡¯s Explorer of the Year. Until one of the friends died in 2009 in Mont Blanc, Alps. After losing his friend, James Hooper, who is very well known to Koreans, began the 'One Mile Closer' charity and set up a school in Uganda.
