The white alba truffle is also called the 'diamond of the kitchen' because of its taste and rarity. Just like there is the Simmani (wild ginseng gatherer) in Korea, there are those in Europe who hunt mushrooms with dogs. This film is a humorous documentary following the footsteps of 4 truffle hunters in northern Italy. Each character is full of unique personality, but all have a common calling. They are all wary of 'greed', and maintain a companionship with the dogs that stick with them for better or for worse. The film is a peek into the exorbitantly priced truffle industry, as well as a reminder of the value of our perilous tradition and nature.
