The elephants in Africa have decreased by 90% in number in the last 40 years and are in danger of extinction these days. The African forest elephants, which inhabit the Congo Basin region, the second-largest tropical rain forest, are no exceptions: they are being sacrificed by the ivory-hunters. People now stand to protect them from becoming extinct through the greed and cruelty of humans. Some researchers started to study the nature of elephants which have begun to be active at night to avoid threats. Eco-guards are watching illegal poaching, and professionals with search and rescue dogs are assisting to arrest poachers. All these people are trying to fill the land of Africa, which has turned into a Silent Forest, with the sound of elephants once again. (SEO Do-eun)
