Rosa BARBA
A short film by director Rosa Barba that was presented in the Shorts Competition at the International Film Festival Rotterdam this year. Barba uses 35mm film footage with a variety of aerial footage and texts to capture the melting and disappearing of Andes glaciers and the communities that are affected. It calls the humans out for their folly in attempting to tame nature while researching myths from various areas and exploring the possibilities to interpret ancient knowledge at the present time. It is a philosophical, ambitious study of the relationship between humans and nature created by weaving together human memory and beautiful images of nature. (JO Ji-hoon) [Screening Information] * Every film is only available from 00:00(KST) on its start date to 23:59(KST) on its end date.
Rosa BARBARosa BARBA
Rosa Barba is an artist with a sculptural approach to film and the ways it articulates space, placing the work and the viewer in a new relationship. She interrogates the industry of cinema with respect to various forms of staging, such as gesture, genre, information and documents, taking them out of the context in which they are normally seen and reshaping and representing them anew.
