Farmers, herdsmen, and more each make their own sounds in the vastness of the Alps. Some are calling their flocks of sheep, goats, or cows, but others seem to be simply announcing their existence. These sounds harmonize with the sound of birds, cowbells, and grazing goats, echoing around one another and becoming music. This melodic world tells us we need not face one another or use words to communicate. (H.Jay LEE)
