German mountaineer and explorer Robert Jasper climbed the North face of Alps (Eiger, Grand Jorasses, and Matterhorn) all within a year, then has continued to make extreme climbs at Himalaya¡¯s Mt. Everest and Patagonia¡¯s Cerro Torre. This film captures his latest challenge – a 30-day solo climbing expedition to Greenland. This first rope solo ascent of Stonecircle (7c, 450m) up Molar Spire brings a spectacular impression combined with a diary-like essay of the climber. If Jasper¡¯s climbing is the lead role, Greenland¡¯s natural scenery and lyrical soundtrack play the supporting role. It gives us the homework of 'reflection' on our solo journey through the sea of life. The film is a record of climbing, a piece of poem, and a book of lessons. The last close-up shot tells us: In the end, alone. (Jinna LEE)
