The fact is, it wasn¡¯t until 1980 that women could finally become members of the Swiss Alpine Club. And of the 1,300 mountain guides in the Swiss Alps, only 36 are women. Three women follow in the footsteps of Nicole Niguille, the first female Swiss mountain guide in 1986. Ariane Staubli, who overcame a terrible fall, Nadja Roth, who was trained in the Swiss army, and Anniina Reber, who is multitasking family, parenting, and being a mountain guide.
