The film begins with a huge golf course seen far away. People are leisurely playing golf. In this rich and noble world is a cherry tree forest which belongs to the immigrant workers from Africa, Latin America, and Asia. The film develops to show the workers in the course of labour as they pick, carry and sort cherries, which eventually turn into products to be traded in the world. Set on the Okanagan Valley in Southwest Canada, a famous tourist resort, the film compares the world of labour and the world of leisure to give a message about various social issues, including labour, poverty, and migration.
