Katherine JERKOVIC
Memories aren¡¯t always what they seem. When Sara flies from Canada to visit Magda, her paternal grandmother in rural Uruguay, the memories seem so far away, even when she¡¯s right in front of them. From the train tracks from her childhood to the one-street village and the old classmate, they all seem so distant. Winner of Toronto IFF¡¯s Best Canadian Debut Feature, Katherine Jerkovic, takes her time with the choked-up conversations, the patient lazy time of the film, lets each character settle into a comfortable groove. Then the emotions build to a crescendo and what did not seem crucial becomes a matter of utmost importance. (Philip CHEAH) [Screening Information] * Every film is only available from 00:00(KST) on its start date to 23:59(KST) on its end date.
