When the lights are turned off and darkness falls on the ski slopes, most skiers call it a day and return to their quarters. But for backcountry skiers, the night is a time of greater challenge and exploration. While the ski town falls asleep below them, Max Kroneck and Jochen Mesle ski down the wilderness of the Austrian Alps illuminated simply by a clear, full moon. Their breathtaking performance and dynamic movements wake the silent mountain. The glowing mountain presents them with freedom and purity unavailable anywhere else in the world.
