When the lights are turned off and darkness falls on the ski slopes, most skiers call it a day and return to their quarters. But for backcountry skiers, the night is a time of greater challenge and exploration. While the ski town falls asleep below them, Max Kroneck and Jochen Mesle ski down the wilderness of the Austrian Alps illuminated simply by a clear, full moon. Their breathtaking performance and dynamic movements wake the silent mountain. The glowing mountain presents them with freedom and purity unavailable anywhere else in the world. No artificial lights are used in the shooting of these scenes, for an all the more captivating video. The creative team El Flamingo (Johannes Müller, Philipp Becker) has been long term friends with ski athletes Jochen Mesle and Max Kroneck. Each winter the crew tries to team up for a special project. Last year it was the award winning adventure documentary Ice & Palms, this year it was a shorter and completely different story called Full Moon.
