Every winter, Sergei moves to the taiga area to breed horses. Although he has a family who lives in a village far from where he stays, his life is no different from that of a nomad. One cannot help but watch with wonder the humble life he must survive in amid the unimaginable below 70 degree Celsius temperature, which resembles the protagonist of the film Nanook of the North. The film tells its story in first-person narration, while the soundtrack adds to the atmosphere. The latter part of the film might be slightly shocking for an audience accustomed to the factory-style livestock industry, but it sends a strong message about those who follow the laws of nature.
