This is a true story of modern-day heroes, the Granite Mountain firefighters and the risks they take. While following the course of the mountain fire team, the film adds the coming-of-age tale of a young drug addict who joins the team to help support his daughter. The spectacle of flames rapidly consuming the vast forest area is threatening, but the counterattack that responds to the fire is also breathtaking and dangerous. Perhaps the dread of witnessing the blazing forest and the fiery setting sun as it bleeds into the screen is from empathizing with the fact that this part of nature is fated to be turned into ashes. All the while, the firefighters¡¯ families are nervously waiting around, wishing for the best. (HAN Song-i)
