This is the 11th film and first 16mm genre piece from Quebec¡¯s leading filmmaker Denis Cote. A young man dies in a car accident in a small and declining imaginary city in Quebec with a population of 215. Soon after, those who have died in the past return to the village as ghosts. The filmmaker seems more interested in the villagers¡¯ response to the unexpected apparitions than the ghosts themselves. Ghost Town Anthology is a horror film with ghosts, but through these uninvited intruders, the filmmaker seems to be presenting a political film by clearly using them as a metaphor for ¡®xenophobia¡¯. (Jo Ji-hoon)
