In 2017, a mother of 2 in her forties, Silvia Trigueros decided to challenge the Italian Tor des Geants, known as the world’s most difficult long-distance trail race. During this extreme race spanning 330km, an accumulated altitude of 24,000m, and a 150 hr time limit, she fought the cold, sleep deprivation, snow, rain, wind and other bad weather to finally finish the race in 5th place, and take the crown when she competed the following year again.
