It was an extremely radical and inspiring attempt for African Americans to ski on the winter snow during the 1970s. However, a few challenged the stereotype that African Americans do not ski by skiing, and the NBS (National Brotherhood of Skiers) founded at this time has become one of the key ski clubs in America. The NBS continues its activities, fostering the nextgeneration skiers of African descent. (JANG Bo-young)
