Half of an Alaskan climb is about ‘waiting’. It’s no different for the first Mexicans to climb the Denali Huntington summit (3,731m), Hector Ponce de Leon and Daniel Araiza. They wait 12 days in Talkina, daily checking the weather forecast until they finally get to board the light plane to Huntington. But once they arrive, they are met with continuous snowstorms and avalanches. (LEE Young-jun)
