The Dolomites located in Northeastern Italy are a mountain chain created about 280 million years ago. Unfortunately, the chain was ravaged during the 1st World War with all the military supply transportation, and trenches dug here and there, which still remain like wounds. Professional Japanese skier Watanabe Yuta and Kono Kenji decided to experience the history and culture of the Dolomites by skiing through the mountain chain. The Dolomites covered in white snow and surrounded by clouds are magnificent, while the images of the skiers speeding down through the steep and narrow gorges are thrilling. It is the first time for Ulju Mountain Film Festival to show a Japanese mountain film produced in Japan. (Billy CHOI)
