Conrad Anker is considered the most influential mountaineer in the U.S. His mountain climbing career which began in Yosemite escalated into fame as he conquered highly-challenging world mountain routes including the likes of the Himalayas and Patagonia. However, in 2016, during his journey with David Lama to Nepal¡¯s untrodden peak, Lunag Ri(6,907m), he experienced a life-threatening situation when he was hit with extreme pain in his chest and suffered a heart attack. It was while he was recovering from heart surgery that Anker met Alex Wildman. He joined forces with mountain climbing rookie Alex to venture up Yosemite¡¯s El Capitan, an experience which led Anker to reflect upon the value of life and the joy of climbing.
