In remote corners, there are lives that pulse vividly yet silently. I feel an inexplicable pull toward them. I find myself returning, again and again. What power can lie in the simple act of watching? At the very least, do we not possess the power to truly 'see' one another, so that our shared time does not freeze in place?
What I discern in these silent beings is a ‘dignified alienation.’ Every life encounters a moment when time seems to freeze. Even there, one can see the 'breath of ice.' Within that steady gaze, moments of flow and blossoming begin to emerge. Through this work, I wish to share the inherent warmth and preciousness found in the simple, profound act of looking into someone.
