José Antonio, almost ninety and showing early signs of Alzheimer's, lives surrounded by family in Galicia, yet often feels overlooked. Claiming to go for a walk in the woods, he instead seeks out Mindo, an old friend and retired fisherman, to head out to sea. Aboard a small boat, the two embark on the adventure of their lives. Can José Antonio and Mindo show us it's never too late for one last adventure?
Award-winning short filmmaker and cinematographer Gonzaga Manso makes his feature film debut with an emotional movie inspired by his family, paying tribute to the figure of grandparents. Intimate, tender, and full of humor, it explores the passage of time and the persistence of memory in the tradition of Japanese masters like Yasujiro Ozu and Shohei Imamura.
