Waiting Time
Under the shade of a Magnolia tree, a group of pregnant women gathers weekly. Among them is Teresa, an experienced midwife who listens to them attentively. Sitting in a circle, the women reflect on the impending birth of their children and their own emerging roles as mothers.
[Claudia Brignone, Director]
Waiting Time is a reflection on birth, on what it means to be a parent today, and on the path that turns a woman into a mother and the psychological and cultural aspects of this journey. The film travels into the lives of these women who come together in a circle and remain connected.
Born in Naples, Brignone is a documentary director whose works were selected at international film festivals. Waiting Time is her third documentary. She collaborated as editor for Procida presented out of competition at the 2023 Locarno Film Festival, with special mention for the Ricola Prize 2023.
