Siachen, A War for Ice
The history and life of the soldiers involved the world¡¯s highest, less known and most absurd war. This conflict began in 1984, a battle for the control over the Siachen glacier located at the extreme northern edge of the Indian-Pakistan border. Twenty years of conflict to maintain sovereignty over a few hundred square kilometres of ice, rock lost somewhere in the middle of the Himalayas.

The film, shot in 2000 at the border between Pakistan and India in the Himalayas, tells the story of an absurd war that has been devastating one of the planet's most precious areas for over 40 years.
Born in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1958. He shot his first documentaries with Romolo Nottaris. He has filmed for years in his favorite hunting ground: Patagonia, where he is still shooting his new film, The Spider of Patagonia.
