Marianne Saether, a world-class whitewater kayaker, returns to the rapids, caught between responsibility for her family and her passion for kayaking. I Follow Rivers captures her journey as she takes on the challenge of Aldeyjarfoss waterfall in Iceland, despite the risks involved.
In the following performance, SONG SOHEE takes the stage — a longtime gugak artist who has recently been continuously expanding her own musical world as a singer-songwriter as well. With a distinctive tone rooted in traditional vocal technique and a wide range of expression that crosses genre boundaries, SONG SOHEE carries forward the lingering resonance of the film's challenge through music forged along a path entirely her own.

Mariann Sæther is one of the world’s leading whitewater kayakers. She has challenged expectations—both within the male-dominated world of extreme sports and in society more broadly. She refuses to accept that family life means leaving the river behind. After the birth of her second child, Mariann fails to qualify for the World Championships. She sets her sights on a goal: to paddle the Aldeyjarfoss. But one question becomes impossible to ignore: is life on the river really worth the risk?
A singer of Gyeonggi folk songs and a contemporary singer-songwriter.
Different paths, yet always side by side.
Alongside her work in gugak, Song Sohee has long nurtured a curiosity for musical worlds beyond traditional boundaries and has continued her pursuit of songs uniquely her own.
Beginning in 2022 with the single 'Journey to Utopia', which she wrote, composed, and arranged herself, she went on to release singles including 'Asurajang', 'GANGGANGSULLAE', 'Not a Dream', and 'Re:5', firmly establishing her new identity as a singer-songwriter in the eyes of the public.
Song Sohee is shaping a new landscape for K-music by crossing genre boundaries. As she herself puts it, "I make Korean music, or the music I want to make." Without letting go of either tradition or modernity, she embraces both worlds side by side as she continues her musical journey.
