Teaming up with the young French photographer JR, Agnes traveled across France to find individuals categorized as people, citizens, and workers. Together, they undertook the task of capturing these individuals' uniqueness and humanity through photography.
Agnès was a leading director of the French New Wave, featuring various art forms. She passed away in 2019, shortly after releasing Varda par Agnès. JR is a photographer who uses buildings around the world as exhibition spaces to display his portraits.
