ULJU SUMMIT

Ulju Summit 2019

Ulju Summit was a major production support project for the Ulju International Festival for boosting the country's mountain production culture and began with the 2015 Festival.

Ulju Summit provides pre-production support within 100 million won of total funding, and supports both mountain-related films.

The movie is open to any domestic individual or producer who has more than one film production experience. Teenagers under 17 can apply, and when they are selected, they will complete the work with the producer set by the festival.

The final selection for the 2019 Ulju Summit includes facilities and equipment of the UlsanAuditorMediaCenter and the final partner for subtitling of the Ulju International Film Festival, which is an English-language film producer.

The films selected for the 2018 Ulju Summit will be available at the 3rdUlju World Festival, and the 2019 Ulju Summit will be selected for the first time since next year's 4th Ulju Festival.

SEO Won-tae
Seo Won-tae is a Korea-Born filmmaker and visual artist. His first feature film, Synching Blue(2007) was an official selection of 27th Vancouver IFF of a ‘Dragon and Tiger Competition’ and 9th Jeonju IFF as part of a special ‘Korean Cinema on the Move’ section. Some of recent shows and film festivals; Mar del Plata IFF(2012, 2014),the Vancouver IFF(2008,2010,2013), the Jeonju IFF(2008,2009,2013), Busan IFF(2012). Now he is a Prof. of Visual Communication at Konju National University.
Jinna LEE
Jinna LEE is a programmer at Ulju Mountain Film Festival(UMFF). She holds a MA degree Film Studies at Hanyang University in Seoul, and finished the film studies PhD. Course. Since 2005, she has worked at JeonjuIFF, Jaechun IMFF. She has been served jury works at Jokja Netpac Asian Film Festival (2015), SAARC Film Festival(2016), Kaohsiung Film Festival in Taiwan(2016), Mar del Plata International Film Festival(2016) and Golden Horse Film Festival(2017).
AHN Seonk-young
Majored in philosophy and worked as a member of Theatre Troupe Georipae. She graduated with a film directing degree from the Korean Academy; consequently, her graduation project The Phantom Sonata(2007) introduced as the opening film at the Independent Film & Video Maker’s Forum. Her first feature film, A Blind River(2009) at the ZurichFF and the second feature Pascha(2013) won the New Currents Award at the Busan IFF and Best Screenplay at the Women in Film Korea 2015. Her latest Hyeon’s Quartet(2016) won the Vision-Director’s Award from the Busan IFF.
JIN Mo-young
Working as a producer and cameraman at a TV station and an individual production company, he has produced, projected and shot documentaries, cultural shows and news programs since 1997. He started making feature length documentaries and released the documentary film, My Love, Don't Cross That River in 2014. This film attracted 4.8 million viewers and won many awards around 30 IFFs. He received favorable comments when he presented Old Marine Boy in November 2017. He is currently active in the international documentary market as a creator and producer.

Final Jury

CHANG Kyu-ho
Chang is the representative of production company FURMO DT Inc, specializing in content Localization. He was the line producer of The Plan (2017), OUR PRESIDENT (2017), and Spy Nation (2016). He produced the localized version of TV documentaries 2018-07-31s“Asian Corridor In Heaven” (2007), “The Noodle Road” (2007) and “Tears in the Arctic” (2009). He is in charge of submissions of domestic TV contents to international awards. He recently produced the documentary film and a Vietnamese version of Speed Scandal (2008) in collaboration with a Vietnamese production company.
CHOI Yoon
Choi Yoon graduated from ESEC (Ecole Superieure Libre D'Etudes Cinematographiques) majoring in producing. He was a professor at Dong-Eui University (Department of Film Studies), and a Director of the Busan Film Commission and President of the Asian Film Commissions Network. He is an active producer on many other projects, and he is running the film production company named UbiContents. One of the latest films he produced is Alice: The Boy from Wonderland (2014). He also is the chief producer of Field Day (2016) and Dad is pretty (2017).
HAN Sun-hee
She produced features Talking Architect(2011), MANSHIN: Ten Thousand Spirit(2013), and The Basement Satellite(2013). Old Days(2016), a documentary she directed and produced, was invited to Jeonju International Film Festival. Currently she is a professor of International Film Business Academy at Busan Asian Film School.
