This year’s Ulju Mountain Film Festival (UMFF) slogan is 'The Road Together'. The passion and efforts of the staff preparing the film festival is the road to meet the audience. Yeongnam Alps will also become the road to bring man and film together in nature during this festival.
The beginning of the road together is a journey. It is always thrilling to be standing at the starting line. The journey can be a departure from daily life, a visit Into the unknown, or a solo getaway trip. There is also the journey in search of freedom for political reasons such as war. On a large scale, we could say that every day is a continued journey. And the road that we take can be a standard road, a road by the seaside, or a treacherous road along a rugged mountain. It can be a literal journey or the long road of life we must travel. This section will cover the various aspects and methods of 'The road together.'
Beginning with The Kid, a film by the acclaimed silent film director Charlie Chaplin about a road travelled with a young child, the 4th UMFF will take a journey with the audience with the following films: Whale Hunting, a road movie about college kids traveling to Udo during the 1980s; The Sweet Requiem, about the fateful choice Dolkar must make after making the treacherous journey from Tibet to India; Crossing the Border - Zhaoguan, a feel-good road movie about a grandfather taking a journey with his grandson on a repaired motorcycle to visit a sick friend; and FAR. The Story of a Journey Around the World, a story about a couple beginning a journey around the world by boat and through hitchhiking and ending up with a third journeyman.
